AT&T has begun to wind down its support for 3G supported Modems. AT&T has now made the taking of a registered SIM from one product and place it into a different device, not possible.
The AT&T Network will recognize and register a new SIM and match it to the IMEI number on 3G supported Handheld devices. If the SIM is removed and an attempt to connect that same SIM with any device with a different IMEI the AT&T network will not recognize that pairing and the SIM will be disabled from use on the AT&T Network. Also, that same SIM will then no longer be able to work with the original paired 3G device.
